When a man loves a women… We all know the song, but actually getting married is a very special occasion and a great privilege for us to be of service. If you are considering getting married, here are a few tips to help you plan for the big day: Speak to us as early as possible. Although there are 52 weeks in a year, you would be surprised how many people want to get married on the same day. Please don’t choose the venue for your reception assuming that you can choose a church in the same way. To be married in any particular church, you have to satisfy one of the following criteria:
You live within the church parish – you can find out which is your parish church by visiting a church near you and entering your postcode.
You are a regular attender at the church and appear on the electoral roll of those who are committed to attend regularly.
You have a qualifying connection with the church – for example, you were baptised there or your family have strong links with the church.
If you are unsure whether you can be married in one of our churches, then please just phone the church office and we will be pleased to help.
Please be aware that if either you or your fiance were born outside Europe, you will need extra paperwork and apply for a special certificate before the wedding can take place. Again, come and talk to us if you need clarification.
